  • SONG Kang-ho Leads Period Gang Pic from INSIDE MEN Director

WOO Min-ho’s Inside Men (2015) follow-up, the period set gangster thriller Drug King, is beginning to take shape around previously announced lead SONG Kang-ho. Joining the cast are JO Jung-suk, YOON Je-moon and LEE Sung-min

SONG plays a drug smuggler in 1970s Busan while JO Jung-suk is on board as a public prosecutor hell-bent on taking him down. Meanwhile, KIM So-jin of The King will play the criminal’s wife.

New star JO last led the comedy hit MY ANNOYING BROTHER (2016) and also featured in last year’s Time Renegades. Broken (2014) star LEE Sung-min will next be seen in comedy-thriller Sheriff and will also soon lead the new LEE Byoung-heon romcom Wind Wind Wind alongside SHIN Ha-kyun. Well known character actor YOON Je-moon played the villain in last year’s period hit The Last Princess. He will be seen next month in the family drama Daddy You, Daughter Me and subsequently in BONG Joon-ho’s Okja in June.

WOO’s Inside Men, with LEE Byung-hun, received over nine million admissions before scoring a wealth of awards both at home and abroad. Drug King will be the director’s fourth feature work.

Showbox is on board as the main investor and distributor for the film, which will kick off filming within the first half of this year.
