Next Installment of Fantasy Blockbuster to Bow in 2018

Just before the new year, the people behind the upcoming two-part fantasy blockbuster Along with the Gods released the first image from the film and also revealed that the first installment of the film was confirmed for a summer 2017 release with the second part following at some point in 2018.

The highly anticipated title will feature a number of major stars, including HA Jung-woo, CHA Tae-hyun, JU Ji-hoon, LEE Jung-jae, Don LEE and OH Dal-su among many others.

The film is based on a webcomic by JU Ho-min, and follows a character who dies and the angel of death who escorts him to the afterworld. Once there, he goes through seven trials during of 49 days. HA Jung-woo plays the angel of death who becomes involved in human affairs even when he isn’t supposed to, and CHA Tae-hyun features as the recently departed.

Holding the director’s reigns is KIM Yong-hwa, responsible for hits such as 200 Pounds Beauty (2006) and Take Off (2009), as well as the 3D family film Mr. Go (2013).

Along with the Gods is produced by Realies Pictures and Dexter Studios and will be distributed by Lotte Entertainment. It was also recently announced that Chinese production company Alpha Pictures will invest USD 2.2 million of the film’s total USD 25 million budget and will also assist with the film’s Chinese distribution.
