34th Edition to Kick off April 25
Organizers of the BISFF announced that they will be accepting entries until January 10th of next year for their International Competition while aspirants for the Korean Competition will have until January 20th.
Beginning in 1980 as the Korean Short Film Festival, the BISFF took on its current name in 2002. Since 2010, the festival opened itself up to cinema from all over Asia and the world, no longer just domestic submissions.
The eventual winner of the International Competition will be introduced at other international short film festivals around the world while the BISFF also serves as a bridge for local shorts to overseas events and audiences.
Last year’s Grand Prix in the International Competition went to Andrés Ramírez Pulido’s
Eden from Colombia while the Korean Competition main prize winner was
KIM Kang-min’s
Deer Flower.
Deer Flower also won a Special Award from the Animafest-World Festival of Animated Film-Zagreb and a Special Jury Prize from the
Jeonju International Film Festival.
