N.E.W. Unleashes New Blockbuster in Wake of TRAIN TO BUSAN
A Korean film has been pre-sold to online streaming and content giant Netflix for the first time, with their pre-release acquisition of upcoming Korean disaster drama

Next Entertainment World (N.E.W.).
Netflix, which is also the financier of
BONG Joon-ho’s upcoming English and Korean language film
Okja, will distribute the film simultaneously on its online platform in 190 countries, save for Korea. Locally, the film will be distributed theatrically in December before finding its way to the online service at a later date.
N.E.W. is currently basing in the success of their zombie blockbuster
TRAIN TO BUSAN, which has generated well over USD 100 million in box office receipts around the world and is still going strong.
Mentioning their excitement to bring high-quality Korean titles to members worldwide, Netflix VP of content acquisition Rob Roy stated that “Netflix is committed to bringing the best of global entertainment to the world and in an era where the internet knows no bounds, this is another step towards delivering great stories to fans no matter where they live.”
