  • Busan International Short Film Festival Holds Animation Special

    Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF) which opens its 33rd edition on April 22nd, is holding Animation Special. The festival had Oberhausen Manifesto Special in 2014 to meditate on the meaning of short films, and Documentary Genre Special in 2015 with the emergence of new media.

     

    15 animations from 10 countries will be shown at the Animation Special. There are video techniques which capture motions in animations such as pixelation, stop motion, video and painting, while audiences can find new techniques like collage spoof and afterimage effect, which changes existing images overlaying different images in various ways. These animations cross all over the reality, dream, surrealism, time and space on the basis of new technologies.

     

    BISFF lineup this year will feature Ghost Cell (2015) by French director Antoine Delacharlery, Much : Van Gogh (2015) by Dutch director Tommie Geraedts, If I Was God (2015) by Canadian director Cordell Barker, French-Korean collaboration film Man on the Chair (2014) by JEONG Da-hee, One Minute Art History (2015) by Chinese director CAO Shu and My Dad (2014) by UK director Marcus Armitage. One Minute Art History music director YI Yuan and editor XU Sijie and Man on the Chair director JEONG Da-hee are scheduled to attend GV.

     

    The festival will be held for five days from April 22nd until the 26th at Busan Cinema Center.
