SO Ji-sub, a Korean big star who has starred in the films including A Company Man (2012) and will be seen RYOO Seung-wan’s Battleship Island alongside HWANG Jung-min in 2017, is co-presenting a SF thriller High-Rise, released on March 30th in Korea.

 

It is his second co-presentation, after A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, an American independent film, released on June 25th, 2015, which he co-presented for the first time with Challan Film, a Korean film import and distribution company.

 

“Among our film imports, SO watches some of them and picks the films of his own choice to invest in,” explains Challan Film. Since 2013, SO’s agency 51K has been co-presenting films like Philomena, Coming Home and The New Girlfriend, and SO started to participate in investment as a private individual. SO is also co-presenting a musical comedy The Beatles: A Hard Day’s Night, to be released in May.

 

High-Rise is a British film set in an isolated sky scraper of 40 stories, based on  J.G. Ballard’s novel, featuring distinguished actors including Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons and Sienna Miller. It has been warmly received in several film festivals including Vancouver International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival. It was already released in Britain on March 17th and Korea is the second country to release this film.
