The First 4DX Screen to Open on March 25
CJ opened its first 4DX cinema in New York City on March 25th. 4DX is the world’s first 4D technology-based movie theater and the technology is all-Korean. It is a result of a strategic partnership with CJ 4DPLEX of
CJ CGV and Regal Cinemas, the largest movie theater chain in the U.S.
The first of the two Manhattan theaters which is in the Regal Union Square Stadium 14 opened on March 25th. The first movie screened in the theater is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And the second theater is going to open in the Regal E-walk 13 on April 29th.
Local press has reported related news showing interests about 4DX screens. New York Post introduced 4DX as “the new technology will give fans the chance to completely immerse themselves with a slew of environmental effects, including motion-activated seats, wind, fog, rain, lighting, vibration, snow, and scents.”
4DX cinemas in the U.S. are likely to grow as CJ 4DPLEX and Regal Cinemas are negotiating for the expansion of theaters.
