  • RYU Seung-ryong and MOON Jeong-hee to Spend NIGHT OF 7 YEARS
  • by Pierce Conran /  Sep 18, 2015
  • CHOO Chang-min Sets MASQUERADE Follow-up

Top thesps RYU Seung-ryong and MOON Jeong-hee will play husband and wife in the upcoming thriller Night of 7 Years alongside JANG Dong-gun, the first project from director CHOO Chang-min since he scaled the all time box office charts with the period hit Masquerade in 2012.

The film, which is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by JUNG Yoo-jung, will focus on Seo-won, a boy who had to deal with fallout of his father’s crime (played by RYU), who ran over a girl and threw her into a lake. Now, the girl’s father (played by JANG) is out for revenge against Seo-won, looking to even the score.

Following leading roles in hits Miracle in Cell No.7 (2013) and The Target (2014), RYU was last seen in The Piper (2015) and will be back on screens first in the period drama The Song of the Flower. MOON, one of the leads in the 2013 hit thriller Hide and Seek, recently starred in women’s drama Cart (2014). Meanwhile JANG, a major film star at the beginning of the millennium has, of late, found more success on the small screen.

Filming for Night of 7 Years will kick off next month.
