- HONG Sang-soo Wins Locarno’s Golden Leopard

HONG Sang-soo’s 17th film Right Now, Wrong Then has earned him the Golden Leopard at the 68th Locarno International Film Festival two years after his feature Our Sunhi won the Best Director prize (Silver Leopard) there. Star JUNG Jae-young (Castaway on the Moon, 2009) was also recognised with the Best Actor honor.Right Now, Wrong Then is the first Korean film to walk away with the top prize from the Swiss film festival. This year’s Locarno jury featured actress MOON So-ri, who has collaborated with the filmmaker many times, most recently in last year’s Hill of Freedom.Starring JUNG (also a performer in Our Sunhi) along with HONG first-timer KIM Min-hee (Helpless, 2012), who visited the festival with the auteur, Right Now, Wrong Then follows a film director who attends a screening of his film in a neighboring town and meets a local artist. The film co-stars HONG acolyte YU Jun-sang (In Another Country, 2012) and KO Asung (Snowpiercer, 2013), appearing in one of his films for the first time.Right Now, Wrong Then is booked to appear at the Toronto and New York International Film Festivals next month.
