Awards for JUNG Woo, KIM Go-eun and IT Star OH Dal-su

The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival has revealed this year’s recipients of its BiFan Awards, to be handed out during next Thursday’s (July 16th) opening ceremony.

LEE Min-ho and MOON Chae-won will receive the Producer’s Choice Awards, while Fantasia Awards will be handed to JUNG Woo and KIM Go-eun and veteran character actor OH Dal-su will claim the IT Star Award.

Selected by BiFan and the Korean Film Producers’ Guild (PGK), the Producer’s Choice Awards are reserved for Korea’s biggest stars.

Global idol LEE Min-ho appeared as a young gangster in this year’s Gangnam Blues with MOON Chae-won appeared in this year’s first hit, the romcom Love Forecast.

The Fantasia Awards are selected by Bucheon residents who get to choose which stars they want to attend BiFan’s opening ceremony. For the festival’s 19th edition, C’est si bon’s JUNG Woo and rising star KIM Go-eun of Coin Locker Girl who will be on hand to accept them. Meanwhile, OH Dal-su, the only actor to have sold over 100 million tickets in Korea, and star of Ode to My Father and this summer’s Assassination, will receive the IT Star Award.

Following the conferral of awards, BiFan will open its 19th edition with a screening of Antoine Bardou-Jacquet’s comedy Moonwalkers.

The festival will run until July 26th.
