  • San Francisco Invites Three Korean Films
  • by June Kim /  Apr 17, 2015
  • ALIVE, HILL OF FREEDOM and A HARD DAY

The San Francisco International Film Festival (SFIFF), which is having its 58th year, has selected three Korean films as a part of their programming. All three titles, which have been invited to the Narrative Feature section, are familiar titles to the international festival scene. They are PARK Jung-bum’s Alive, HONG Sangsoo’s Hill of Freedom and KIM Seong-hun’s A Hard Day.

Featuring about 150 films and live events, San Francisco International Film Festival is the longest running film festival in the Americas. San Francisco Film Society, which is an organization that encourages progressive evolution of film culture, is responsible for putting on the festival. Other than the SFIFF, the San Francisco Film Society also puts on year-round exhibition programs, runs filmmaker support program Filmmaker 360, while its Education Department looks to provide  year-round media literacy programs to students.

Last year, the festival invited Our Sunhi and Intruders as a part of their programming.
The festival dates are from April 23rd until May 7th.
