  • CinemAsia Invites OH Jung-wan for In Focus Program

  • Veteran Bom Film Producer to Visit the Netherlands

The CinemAsia Film Festival in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has invited veteran producer OH Jung-wan to take part in its annual In Focus program, which seeks to highlight underrepresented areas of Asian cinema.

First at Shincine Communications and then as head of her own company Bom Film Production, OH was one of the key figures that shaped the Korean film industry as it stands today. Working as a producer on works such as KIM Jee-woon’s A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) and A Bittersweet Life (2005), HONG Sangsoo’s Night and Day (2008) and E J-yong’s Untold Scandal (2003), she helped to define the careers on some of Korea’s most prominent cineastes.

With the support of the Netherlands Film Fund, three of OH’s films will screen in 35mm at CinemAsia this year, including A Tale of Two Sisters, A Bittersweet Life and Untold Scandal, to be accompanied by panel discussions. In addition, the Director’s Fortnight action-thriller A Hard Day, the Dankook University drama End of Winter and Berlinale-invited short Hosanna, will also play in the Dutch capital as the festival unfurls over April 1-6.
