  • CHUN Woo-hee and YOO Yeon-seok Considering HAE-EO-HWA

Following Cold Eyes (2013) star HAN Hyo-joo’s confirmation on the 15th, award-winning actress CHUN Woo-hee and YOO Yeon-seok, one of today’s hottest actors, are said to be currently in the last stages of confirming their participation in the new period drama.

Hae-eo-hwa (working title) which means ‘flower that understands words’ refers to a beautiful woman. In this case, it is talking about musically talented, classy and beautiful Korean geishas. HAN, who will be the protagonist of the film, is positioned in a rival position against the role being considered by CHUN. The two women used to be best friends during childhood but grow up to fight for the position of  best geisha. If YOO takes on the character he has been offered, he will play a composer who is torn between the two women.

All three actors had a busy 2014 with many upcoming releases between them. HAN has C’est si bon on her slate, while CHUN has Goksung (working title) and The Guest (working title), and YOO Yeon-seok has Perfect Proposal and In the Mood for Love in line. All three were also cast in The Beauty Inside.

The film will be directed by PARK Heung-sik of I Wish I Had a Wife (2000) and Memories of the Sword, while it will be financed and distributed by Lotte Entertainment. The film is set to begin shooting in April.
