Project to Discover Future of Asian Cinema
In order to discover new Asian film talents, the Asian Film Academy (AFA), a global film education program, is looking for participants up until the 30th of this month.
Embarking on its 10th edition this year, AFA is a film education program designed to share film production knowledge and philosophy. Young filmmakers can gain experience in various fields such as short filmmaking, as well as attend workshops, master classes and special lectures, mentored by master filmmakers. The project was set up to discover new film talents, and its curriculums concentrates on training and mentoring with the best directors in Asia, including KUROSAWA Kiyoshi, HOU Hsiao Hsien, IM Kwon-taek, Mohsen MAKHMALBAF, Abbas KIAROSTAMI, JIA Zhangke and LEE Changdong.
The New York Film Academy and Full Sail University are partnering with AFA this year. The New York Film Academy will provide an opportunity to a selected applicant to attend a ’4 Week Filmmaking Workshop,’ and instructors of Full Sail University will lecture on film production at the Busan International Film Festival. In addition, AFA plans to open ’Graduate Screen’ and stage Guest Visits with directors from the academy in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
