May 4 Submission Deadline for Genre Film Projects
The Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) is inviting people to participate in its upcoming edition. The ‘It Project’ is a production and investment support program for genre film, and NAFF expressed its goal to “seek fresh genre film projects” for its 7th edition this year.
‘It Project’ began in 2008 with the aim to discover unique and promising genre films and to provide practical production and investment possibilities. The official selections will be given opportunities to attract investment, joint production, pre-purchase and more through one-on-one business meetings with global film investment and production companies. In addition, cash awards and post-production support will be offered for selected works after individual project meetings with a jury comprised of film industry professionals. The various genre films that have been selected from around the world range from fantasy, horror, thriller, action and black comedy to science fiction. It Project has fostered many outstanding films including Forever (2010) by Singapore’s Li Lin WEE, The Terror, LIVE by Korea’s KIM Byung-woo, The Weight by Korea’s JEON Kyu-hwan, When a Wolf Falls in Love with a Sheep (2012) by Taiwan’s HOU Chi-jan, and School Girl Apocalypse (2011) by John CAIRNS.
