  • Kpop Star Continues Global Acting Push
     
    Kpop sensation Rain will appear in a Chinese film for the first time following an offer to star in a new melodrama by mainland director GAO Xixi.
     
    In the film, Rain will play a painter who falls in love with a character that will be played by actress LIU Yifei, and who is also the heir to a large corporation.
     
    Rain (aka Jung Ji-hoon) is a famous Korean singer who has also appeared on television and in Korean films such as PARK Chan-wook’s I’m a Cyborg But That’s Okay (2006) and R2B: Return to Base (2012). Recently, the star has been filming his scenes in the Hollywood production The Prince, which will mark his third foray in the US film industry, following his roles in Speed Racer (2008) and Ninja Assassin (2009).
     
    Director GAO Xixi is know for his historical TV dramas Three Kingdoms (2010) and The Legend of Chu and Han (2012). His new project project, which has the working title Hong Yan Lu Shui, will begin shooting in mid-March in Shanghai.
