- LA Times Praises ‘Inspired and Teeth-Grittingly Determined’ Set Pieces
The Suspect (2013), by director WON Shin-yun, opened on the 10th of January in North America and is receiving favorable comments from the local press.
The Los Angeles Times spoke of the film’s “inspired and teeth-grittingly determined” set pieces. The Washington Post wrote that the film “should entertain any action buff,” while Screen Daily, a film journal in the UK, was also gave a good review: “the style of the action scenes is so explosive and immersive that the movie even threatens the reputation of the ‘007’ series.” The New York Times reviewed that the “guns-or-butter dichotomy” is “more resonant than you’d expect.”
The Suspect reached an 83% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a notable film review site in the US that aggregates reviews of films to determine how well-received they are by critics. The 83% that The Suspect reached was not far from the 89% scored by Walt Disney’s new animation Frozen (2013), and was higher than the 75% recorded by Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and the 73% of Lone Survivor (2013).
