Korean Short Takes Trip over the Pacific
JOUNG Yu-mi’s artistic animated short Love Games has been invited to screen in the 49th Chicago International Film Festival, which will run from October 10th to 24th. The film has been programmed among the 'Shorts 4: Our Lover’s Story' collection which will also feature films from the UK, Switzerland, Taiwan, Canada and Germany.
Love Games is an animation that explores young and immature love through the device of simple children’s games. It screened at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year in ‘Berlinale Shorts.’ Later, it was selected for the International Women’s Film Festival in Seoul, the FEMINA International Women’s Festival and the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival.
Director JOUNG studied Fine Arts at Kookmin University before majoring in Animation Direction in the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA). Her previous shorts include My Small Doll House (2006), Dust Kid (2009) and Math Test (2010).
