KIM Ki-duk’s Pieta will start screening in the States on May 17th and will gradually spread over the nation. Pieta was the winner of the Golden Lion at last year’s Venice Film Festival. According to Draft House Film, the company in charge of North American distribution of Pieta, the film will be released in Denver, Kansas, Austin, Huston, Phoenix, San Diego, Chicago and New York between May 17th and 23rd. It will meet American audiences in San Antonio on the 19th, Miami on the 23rd, Winchester on the 24th and Dallas and Portland on the 31st.

 

Draft House Film promoted the film through iTunes and in VOD format on April 12th. They also reported news about KIM’s winning of the Golden Lion and his other films in detail. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter And Spring, another film directed by KIM earned USD 2.38 million when it was released in North America in April, 2004. 3-Iron, also directed by KIM, was released on April 29th, 2005, and made USD 240,000.
