South Korean sales company 9ers Entertainment has done a raft of sales at the American Film Market (AFM) on titles including <Miss Conspirator>, starring Ko Hyun-jung (<Woman on the Beach>), according to UK-based trade magazine Screen International.

Action comedy <Miss Conspirator> pre-sold to STG for Thailand. Previously announced with director JUNG Bum-shik attached, the film is currently being directed by PARK Chul-kwan, whose credits include the hit Buddhist monk comedy <Hi, Dharma> (2002).  <Miss Conspirator> also stars Yoo Hae-Jin from <The Unjust>.

9ers Entertainment also did pre-sales on JOUNG Yong-Ju’s romantic comedy <Never Ending Story> to STG for Thailand. The film stars UHM Tae-woong (<Cyrano Agency>, <Chaw>) and JUNG Ryeo-won (<Castaway on the Moon>).

The company also sold the family comedy drama <Merry Christmas, North! (Ryang-Kang-Do)>, which made its world premiere in the Korean Cinema Today – Panorama section of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) selection this year, to AV Jet for Taiwan.

In addition, the sleeper hit <Late Blossom> sold to Japan (Alcine, the film division of Epicott), China (Juna International), and Malaysia (MATV). Directed by CHOO Chang-min and based on the hit tearjerker manga by kangfull, the film is about the love and romance of two elderly couples. LEE Soon-jae recently picked up the Best Actor prize for his performance in the film at China’s major Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards.

The up-and-coming 9ers Entertainment has also added PARK Joong-Koo’s black comedy <Sunday Punch> and JEON Young-Gap’s drama <Driving Mrs. Moon> to its sales line-up.
