Set in 1953 during the Korean War, three days before the ceasefire, middle-aged South Korean soldier Nam-bok (SUL Kyung-gu) lost all of his fellows and a secret file. He must find the file and deliver it to go back home. Meanwhile Young-kwang (YEO Jin-gu), a teenage North Korean soldier lost his senior and left all alone in the middle of the battlefield, too. He attempts to return to North driving his combat car although he learned how to handle a combat car just by the textbook. The two soldiers eager to go back home face off on the western front. (Korean title of the film means “western front”.)

Directed by CHEON Sung-il, screenwriter of The Pirates and script editor of The Unfair, The Long Way Home is a big-budgeted action-comedy-drama fit for the Chuseok holiday season and features one of the biggest actors in Korea, SUL Kyung-gu (Hope, Haeundae) and the rising star YEO Jin-gu (hero of TV series The Moon Embracing the Sun).
