  • 2017 BIFF X KoBiz Online Screening Service Opens
  • by HWANG Hee-yun /  Oct 24, 2017
  • Service Available for 3 months from October 26 to January 25, 2018

The online screening service managed by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) with the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will be serviced on the official website (screening.koreanfilm.or.kr) once again this year.

The service period is scheduled from October 26, 2017 to January 25, 2018. This time, the service will focus on promoting Korean films through creating a more active system, improving the viewing experience by making it more convenient, outreach to new markets, and provide a platform for efficient investment deals. 33 films were agreed to stream on the online screening service. If you sign up as a member of the online screening service (membership is limited to festival programmers and foreign buyers), you will be able to watch films you enjoyed at BIFF again, or watch the titles you missed at your convenience without having to pay a fee.

This year’s film list includes a film from BIFF’s New Currents section, How to Breathe Underwater. This film by GO Hyeon-seok draws the story of a very difficult day. LEE Weon-young’s Black Summer from the Korean Cinema Today – Vision section talks about the love between homosexuals. JEONG Ga-young’s Hit the Night is about a woman that makes the move on her crush, while JEON Go-woon’s Microhabitat is about a woman in her 30s who works as a maid. Possible Faces by LEE Kang-hyun follows the two-sided story of Giseon and Hyejin, and JEON Soo-il’s America Town from Korean Cinema Today – Panorama section will also be available. Architecture fans who have seen JEONG Jae-eun’s Talking Architect (2011) would want to keep their eyes open for her newest documentary, Ecology in Concrete. The online screening service will run for 3 months until January 25th of next year.
