  • KOFIC to Support Korean Film Sales and Technical Projects at TIFFCOM
  • by Chris KIM /  Oct 17, 2013
  • Also Offering 'Ko-Production in Tokyo 2013'

The Korean Film Council(KOFIC) is setting up a Korean booth at this year’s Tokyo International Film Festival market, TIFFCOM 2013, which will be held from October 22nd to provide support for the sales of Korean films and the procurement of technical projects such as VFX. KOFIC is also offering a Korea-Japan co-production meeting event, ‘Ko-Production in Tokyo 2013.’

Six companies specializing in international sales including Finecut are participating in this year’s TIFFCOM 2013 Korean booth, and FX companies including Moneff and NEXT Visual Studio in particular, will be seeking business prospects in the Japanese market. KOFIC has been attending since 2010 to offer Korean booth services during the festival.

Meanwhile, the ‘Ko-Production in Tokyo 2013,' which has established itself as an opportunity for Korean filmmakers and producers to meet with production partners in Japan, will be held at the same time. A total of five projects including Shobu (dir. OH Ki-hwan, prod. LEE Gyeong-hee, NNBB Company, Inc.), The Ghost of Oksu Station on 3D (dir. HANABUSA Tsutomu, prod. KIM Tae-hyung, AVA Entertainment Co., Ltd), Fantasia (dir./prod. JANG Kun-jae, Mocushura), Finland Papa (prod. Andy YOON, MoonWatcher Co., Ltd) and Amour (dir. JEONG Jae-eun, prod. LEE Eun-kyung, ZOA Films Inc.) have been confirmed to participate. There will be a special focus on ‘networking’ this year, the results of which are highly anticipated.
