  • KOFIC and Korean companies at HK Filmart

  • (March 19 – 22, 2012) with sales companies such as 9ers and Mirovision.
     
    The Korean booth will also play host to production companies Film Factory Nu:n, Inc. and P.A.M. Korea Media as well as technical services companies Studio SH, Moneff and Studioraon, Inc.
     
    Organizations such as the Busan Film Commission (BFC), Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan), and Seoul International Youth Film Festival (SIYFF) will also be based there to hold meetings.
     
    Other Korean sales companies will be opening independent booths at Hong Kong Filmart including Finecut, CJ Entertainment, M-Line Distribution, Showbox / Mediaplex, Lotte Entertainment, and Daisy Entertainment.
     
    During Filmart, the 10th Hong Kong - Asian Film Financing Forum (HAF) will also host three projects from Korea out of a record total of 32. The Korean selections are JEON Soo-il’s <Another Country>, KIM Baek-jun’s <Monsters> and LEE Hae-jun’s <My Dictator>.
     
    Running March 21 – April 5, the 36th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) will also be hosting five feature films from Korea: KIM Joong-hyeon’s <Choked> and KIM Kyung-mook’s <Stateless Things> in the Young Cinema Competition, PARK Ki-yong’s <Moving> in the Documentary Competition, JEON Kyu-hwan’s <From Seoul to Varanasi> in the Indie Power section, and HONG Sang-soo’s <The Day He Arrives> in the festival’s Auteurs section.
     
    Korean director KIM Tae-yong (<Late Autumn>, <Family Ties>) has also taken part in directing one of the four short films commissioned by HKIFF under the collective title <Beautiful 2012>. Taiwan’s TSAI Ming-Liang, China’s GU Changwei, and Hong Kong’s Ann Hui also each directed a short for this project.
