Tickets for the 20th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), which kicks off on July 21st, have been sold out quickly. Tickets of 62 screenings were already sold out on the first day, July 14th, when its online ticket sales started, and those of 85 shows were all sold out on the next day.

Director YEON Sang-ho’s animation Seoul Station which is the closing film of the fest was sold out fastest. The film, which was invited to the Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film, the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, sold all the tickets for the closing ceremony and the screening on July 30th. Also, opening film Captain Fantastic ran out for July 23rd as well as the opening ceremony.

Confessions whose director NAKASHIMA Tetsuya is giving a masterclass during BIFAN sold out very quickly, too. The director is famous for his unique sytle and story, and will visit Bucheon with his special screening ‘I Confess, Nakashima Tetsuya’. Tickets of his films for the event like Memories of Matsuko and Kamikaze Girls were all sold out.

Shows with its guests are the most popular in BIFAN. Chihayafuru Part I and Chihayafuru Part II, and The Kirishima Thing are becoming sensation due to Japanese beautiful actress HIROSE Suzu’s visit and GV with critic LEE Dong-jin and writer KIM Jung-hyuk, respectively. Asian star JANG Keun-suk’s directorial debut The Great Legacy joined sellout list, too.

BIFAN provides to meet the latest talents along with genre movie masters. Therefore, short movies filled with strange names can get lavish hospitality. Programs like Bucheon Choice: Shorts 1 and Bucheon Choice: Shorts 2, Fantastic Short Films 11 and Fantastic Short Films 14, and Korean Fantastic Shorts have been sold out already.

It is a few days away from BIFAN, but it is time to be lucky if any film ticket is available, much less choosable. You’d better to hurry. It is sold out online, but festival sales still remain. Ticket boxes will sell tickets for the screening day.
