When the village is going to be redeveloped, Jang-woo decides to move to Seoul for his sister, but suddenly she disappears. And three days later she is found dead. There is no witness and no clue. Jang-woo comes across a strange scene during the ritual to send her sprit to heaven in peace. A brassware with rice for her soul which is thrown to the sea stopped in front of a man standing near. The man runs away avoiding Jang-woo so he believes his sister hints the criminal from the afterlife.
Another girl in town, Si-eun (
LEE Yoo-young) is able to see ghosts or foresee someone else’s death. Even though she predicted her only friend Eun-ji’s death, she stayed silent. So she feels so guilty that she wants to help Jang-woo. With her help, Jang-woo encounters a pharmacist (
YOO Hae-jin), who is known as one of the kindest person in town.
FATAL INTUITION is the second movie of the mockumentary-horror
Mokdugi Video (2003) director
YUN Jun-hyeong. YUN made
FATAL INTUITION as much like a horror rather than a thriller, but not a typical K-horror with a female ghost dressed in white. A girl who has supernatural powers, two-faced murderer and secluded fishing village create a fearful atmosphere.
The motif of this film is a real murder case in 1999. A similar thing happened during the ritual of a female college student who was found dead in Busan. Her father chased a man that he thought a murderer for six months by himself.
Meanwhile, JOO Won who has built up more impressive career on TV, comes into his own on screen after a long time. Promising rookie LEE Yoo-young is also outstanding. Nice and comic character YOO hae-jin meets a good role enough to use his image and talent.
