She got her break the next year, working as a scriptwriter and assistant director on PARK Chan-wook’s <Sympathy for Lady Vengeance>, the closing chapter of his famed ‘Vengeance Trilogy’. With the support of director PARK as a producer (for the very first time), LEE made her first feature <Crush and Blush> in 2008. Starring KONG Hyo-jin as an unpopular teacher who is having great difficulty at her school, the film was praised for its performances and script, and earned LEE much acclaim, not to mention the Best New Director and Best Screenplay prizes from the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Following this, she appeared in small roles in films directed by RYOO Seung-wan, including his short <Timeless> (2009) and his popular features <The Unjust> (2010) and <The Berlin File> (2013). Her sophomore film, <Home Sweet Home>, came in 2015. The thriller featured SON Ye-jin and KIM Ju-hyeok as a couple involved in politics who struggle with a kidnapping case during an important election. close
