However, despite this early start in the industry, it wasn’t until 2005 that KANG was able to complete his feature debut Sakwa, starring MOON So-ri and LEE Sun-kyun. The film was popular on the festival circuit, earning awards at the San Sebastian and Toronto International Film Festivals. He followed this up in 2010 with the short Two Teeth and by participating in If You Were Me 5, the long running omnibus series commissioned by the Human Rights Commission of Korea. KANG was hot on the festival circuit in 2012 with the powerful indie drama Juvenile Offender, which screened at dozens of events and earned awards at the Tokyo and Cinemanila International Film Festivals. KANG has made a name for himself with his raw and sensitive dramas, not to mention the strong performances he draws out of his cast. close
