The Film Has Been Invited to Leading International Film Festivals and Won the Best Jury Prize at the 20th Florence Korea Film Fest

Director Shin Suwon’s new film, HOMMAGE, is heating up the world’s leading film festivals. After winning the Best Jury Prize at the 20th Florence Korea Film Fest closed on April 15, the film has been officially invited to the Viewpoints section of the 21st Tribeca Film Festival.

The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, a Hollywood actor, and started in 2002 to restore the mental and economic conditions of the Tribeca neighborhood in Lower Manhattan, New York, after September 11, 2001. The Tribeca Film Festival, which marks its 20th anniversary this year, has become a representative film festival in New York. Among its sections, Viewpoints, where HOMMAGE has been invited, is a section that introduces world-class films with bold and original visions and innovative perspectives.

HOMMAGE depicts a fantastic time travel that a middle-aged film director hitting a slump (Played by Lee Jungeun) experiences when she restores the film, The Female Judge, made by Hong Eunwon, the second Korean female director in the 1960s. Actor Lee Jungeun of PARASITE plays her first lead role Jiwan, while actors Kwon Haehyo and Tang Joonsang play Jiwan’s husband and son, respectively. 

HOMMAGE was previously invited to the 69th Sydney Film Festival in Australia, the 18th Glasgow Film Festival in the UK, and the 34th Tokyo International Film Festival, and won the Best Jury Prize at the 20th Florence Korea Film Fest. After being released at the 23rd Jeonju IFF, which opens on April 28, HOMMAGE will hit the theaters in Korea in May.
