YANG Ik-june, JEON Hye-jin Start Filming A POET’S LOVE

Actors YANG Ik-june, JEON Hye-jin and JEONG Ga-ram began filming A Poet’s Love on December 21st. From first time director KIM Yang-hee, the film is one of the participants of this year’s Jeonju Cinema Project, and will therefore premiere at the upcoming Jeonju International Film Festival before going on theatrical release at some point during the summer.

YANG, a noted character actor as well as the director of indie breakout Breathless (2009), put on weight to play a down on his luck poet. JEON, who picked up a Best Supporting Actress Prize from the Blue Dragon Awards in 2015 for LEE Joon-ik’s The Throne, will play his wife. New face JEONG was crowned male rookie performer of the year at the recent Daejong Film Awards for his role in JUNG Ji-woo’s drama Fourth Place. He will play a young man who comes into the poet’s life and awakens new inspiration in him.

KIM Yang-hee will be making her feature directing debut with A Poet’s Love, having previously made shorts and worked as an assistant director on diverse works such as Mapado 2: Back To The Island (2007), The Sword With No Name (2009), Tokyo Taxi (2010), Love On-Air (2012) and Days of Wrath (2013).

A Poet’s Love began life as a participant in the Jeonju Project Market, where it won the Feature Film Pitching Grand Prize.
