PARASITE Director Invited to 10th annual Screenwriters’ Lecture Series in London

Director BONG Joon-ho has been invited to take part in the 10th annual Screenwriters’ Lecture Series put on by British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). The Korean filmmaker will join other celebrated world cinema cineastes such as Pedro ALMÓDOVAR, Noah BAUMBACH, Robert EGGERS and Céline SCIAMMA.

The series of lectures will take place in London at the Curzon cinemas in Mayfair and Soho from November 30 to December 12 this year. Director BONG has been receiving massive global attention this year after becoming the first Korean filmmaker to earn the coveted Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival this year, and in particular in recent weeks as his new film has racked in over USD 15 million to date at the American box office and finds itself right in the thick of this year’s Academy Awards conversation.

Starring regular BONG collaborator SONG Kang-ho, as well as PARK So-dam, CHOI Woo-shik, LEE Sun-kyun and JO Yeo-jeong, PARASITE received over 10 million visitors in Korea in early summer and has become a hit around the world, with box office sales exceeding USD 110 million so far.

BONG’s lecture will take place on December 12, whereas PARASITE is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom and Ireland next February by local distributor Curzon.
