Korean Talent Agency Makes Hollywood Inroads

Top Korean talent agency Saram Entertainment has teamed up for a joint venture with Hollywood’s AIG (Artist International Group). The agencies are planning to launch a full-service, internationally-driven talent representation service that will focus on a global set of clients for film and TV projects, which will operate out of their respective offices in Seoul and Los Angeles. Their aim is to develop, package and produce local language film and TV content.

Saram is known for representing several major names in Korea, including Extreme Job’s LEE Ha-nee, CHO Jin-woong (Believer, 2018) and YOON Kye-sang (THE OUTLAWS, 2017). Meanwhile AIG represents the Hollywood interests of LEE Ha-nee, as well as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Michelle YEOH and Gong LI of Raise the Red Lantern among many others.

AIG CEO David UNGER explained that “Together we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on the explosive growth from international opportunities and partnerships. Today, more than ever, content across film and television must speak to diverse audiences with global appeal.”.

Meanwhile, LEE So-young, the CEO of Saram Entertainment, stated that “Together we have a true understanding of the greater global scale when it comes to championing Korean talent and ideas across different territories and cultures. We’re very excited to exchange business strategies and visions with AIG and provide our clients with a more global approach to further build on their accomplishments.”.
