Two Korean film festivals Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival and Jecheon International Music and Film Festival - aim to present an alternative view on cinema this summer, the setting matches their visions with screenings outdoor. The small and intimate Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival will be held for the 7th time in Gangreung, Gangwon-do province. The outdoor screenings take place at the Gangreung elementary school and are free to attend. Gangreung will host the festival from August 4 until August 6. The festival aims to support young emerging Korean directors and their independent films under the slogan: Alternative, Independent and Romantic. Jecheon is in the province Choonchungbook-do and features a picturesque outdoor venue for the Jecheon International Music and Film Festival by the Cheongpung Lake. The festival's goal is to celebrate film, music and the combination of those two. The non-English language films and documentaries are English subtitled. The festival opens it doors from August 9 and closes on August 14. Yi Ch'ang-ho (KOFIC)
