Details surrounding IU’s character have yet to be revealed but PARK, who signed on in October, is set to play YOON Hong-dae, a young soccer star who transitions into a career as a coach when he finds himself under disciplinary probation, and is tasked with leading a squad of 11 homeless athletes who look to take home the big prize in the ‘homeless world cup’.
One of the most celebrated entertainers in Korea for over a decade, IU has of late been transitioning into acting, with several high profile TV Drama series, such as Hotel Del Luna, and the Netflix anthology series Persona(2019), which was built around her. Dream will be her first major starring role in a feature film.
Director LEE scored the second best all-time box office score with his smash comedy Extreme Job (2019), his fourth film, which welcomed over 16 million viewers during the Lunar New Year holiday season last year.
Following the smash success of the summer sleeper hit Midnight Runners (2017), PARK appeared in the exorcism action-thriller The Divine Fury (2019), and also had a cameo in BONG Joon-ho’s PARASITE (2019) last year.
