Event Hopes to Foster Cooperation Between Korea and Vietnam

Those attending the 2017 Ho Chi Minh - Gyeongju World Culture Expo have the chance to enjoy Korean cinema and see film stars. Earlier this week information was released regarding the Expo’s Korea-Vietnam Film Festival which is set to run from November 17 to 22.

The festival, which is being overseen by acclaimed director and current head of the Directors Guide of Korea (DGK) BONG Joon-ho, hopes to expand mutual understanding between Korea and Vietnam and fosters exchange and cooperation in the future. During the festival, film directors and actors are expected to participate in a large number of cultural exchange events.

The festival’s program features recent Korean films released no earlier than 2015 that cover the action, horror, comedy, drama, family and melodrama genres. The festival also screens several Vietnamese films that were released in 2017. Additionally audiences have the chance to meet with actors and directors during the “Guest Visits”(GV) that follows selected films.

The Korea-Vietnam Film festival is being held in the movie theater in BITEXCO Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City.
