CJ 4DPLEX Opens the 400th Screen at Wanda Cinemas in Beijing

To Reach this Record in Seven-and-a-half Years Since its Debut in 2009
 

CJ 4DPLEX has opened the 400th 4DX screen, its self-developed multi-sensory cinema system, in Beijing, China. The company has announced that “CJ 4DPLEX has opened its 400th 4DX screen at Wanda Cinemas in Tiantogyuan, in northwestern Beijing, China.” on September 8th, 2017. 

The first movie for the 400th 4DX is Spider-Man: homecoming. “It is an ideal showcase for an innovative film technology that features motion seats and environmental effects such as rain, fog and various scents.” CJ 4DPLEX said.  

“The opening of its 400th location in Beijing makes 4DX the fastest-growing premium cinema format, having reached this milestone in seven-and-a-half years following its debut in December, 2009.” the company said and added “With this opening, more than 49,000 4DX seats have been installed in theatre auditoriums across 49 countries, with the capacity to accommodate more than 89 million worldwide moviegoers per year.” Meanwhile, CJ 4DPLEX has installed in theatres including CGV (with 72 4DX locations worldwide), Wanda Cinemas (66 4DX locations in China), Cinepolis (53 4DX locations worldwide), Cineworld Group (30 4DX locations in Europe) and VOX cinemas (12 4DX locations in the Middle East) and plans to expand to open 20 new 4DX screens at Regal Entertainment Group in the United States by the end of 2018.
