Company Chosen for Achievements in Innovative Cinema Technology

Lotte Cinema will be presented the Special Achievement Award at the CineAsia Awards in Hong Kong in December, 2017. The company was chosen to receive the award after introducing such innovative technologies as Korea’s first dual 6P laser projector at the Lotte Cinema World Tower and launching Super S, the world’s first cinema LED screen.

The CineAsia Awards is a convention held for cinema exhibition and distribution professionals. The business and networking event will also feature various programs such as product presentations, screenings of major upcoming films and seminars about current and future trends of the industry. The awards ceremony will take place on December 14th at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Lotte Entertainment’s film distribution division is also doing well having put out box office hits for two years in a row. 2016’s The Last Princess and this year’s Midnight Runners have easily gone over their break-even points by surpassing 5.6 million moviegoers. Lotte Entertainment invests in and distributes approximately 12 Korean films per year and has worked with global partners like Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate. The company is also actively investing in the performance market, operating musical theater venue Charlotte Theater.
