Super Heroes Attraction with VR/AR Technologies

Marvel Experience will be opening in Busan in October. This will be the first time the program has been offered in Asia. In a new concept of 3D and 4D interactive attraction, tourists become agents to train and game with Marvel’s super heroes such as Iron man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America and Spider-Man. It will also provide a hyper-realistic tour using virtual reality and augmented reality technologies with Marvel’s characters in a 360-degree domed theater. According to WoW Planet, which will be operating the facility, the attraction will feature eight characters, including Iron Man, and will increase the number beginning next year. There is also a plan to invite actors and actresses from Marvel movies such as Black Panther, which was partly filmed in Busan and is set to be released next year.

The new facility will open in early October in the Busan North Port Redevelopment District between Busan Port International Passenger Terminal and Busan Station. The location will be easy for tourists passing the terminal and the station to find. WoW Planet will rent the land from the Busan Port Authority for Marvel Experience Busan for three years and will move the facility to Seoul after six-months of operation in Busan. The company plans to open other attractions during Marvel Experience’s absence. Meanwhile, Marvel Experience is expected to boost the economy by bringing in about 2 million visitors, 2,600 new jobs and USD 328.5 million worth of production a year. WoW Planet will sell tickets exclusively through Melon Ticket and will begin various marketing campaigns soon.
