Korean Star Joins HARRY POTTER Prequel Franchise

Claudia KIM, the Korean actress who landed a major part in Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron, has booked her latest Hollywood role, in the upcoming sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the prequel franchise to Harry Potter.

KIM will play a member of a wizarding circus in the Warner Brothers release, which will see Eddie Redmayne, Zoë Kravitz and Johnny Depp return while Jude Law joins the cast of the film, which is currently filming and aiming for a November 2018 release.

David Yates is returning as director while J.K. Rowling is once again penning the screenplay. Released last November, the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them generated over USD 800 million in global ticket sales, building on the sensational success of the Harry Potter series, which was also released by Warner Bros.

A Korean TV star who got her big break within the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers after a major audition, KIM has gone on to appear in several global productions, including the Netlfix TV series Marco Polo. She will also be seen later this summer opposite Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey in the Stephen King adaptation The Dark Tower. Avengers: Age of Ultron became one of the most successful films of all time in Korea, accruing 10.49 million admissions in the spring of 2015.
