Upcoming thriller Room No.7 completed its production on February 23rd. It was the first major shoot of 2017, having started production on January 2nd. SHIN Ha-kyun and DOH Kyung-soo lead the cast of the commercial film debut of LEE Yong-seung, whose debut 10 Minutes was invited to the Busan International Film Festival in 2013 before screening at the Berlin International Film Festival the following year.
Last seen in the last summer comedy DETOUR, SHIN will play the boss of an ailing DVD Bang, a Korean establishment that rents rooms by the hour to watch films. A part-timer at the store (played by K-pop star DOH Kyung-soo, aka D.O.) finds a body in one of the rooms during his shift.
SHIN is one of the most familiar faces of the resurgence of Korean cinema, having starred in works such as PARK Chan-wook’s Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) and JANG Joon-hwan’s Save the Green Planet (2003). SHIN, who will soon be seen in the incoming action title Villainess, stated that Room No.7 is something that no one has seen before and he also expressed his desire to work with the filmmakers again if the chance comes along.
DOH, a member of the boyband EXO, recently launched his film career and has appeared in the lead in UNFORGETTABLE and MY ANNOYING BROTHER in 2016. He will next be seen this summer in the big-budget fantasy drama ALONG WITH THE GODS.
