SHIN Ha-kyun Enters ROOM 7

DOH Kyung-soo Mulls Co-Starring Role

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) star SHIN Ha-kyun has set mystery-thriller Room 7 as his next project. New star DOH Kyung-soo of the K-pop band EXO is considering a co-starring role. Both performers are currently filming other projects, which means the new film isn’t expected to immediately go into production.

SHIN has signed on to play the owner of a failing DVD Bang, an establishment where youths can rent rooms to watch films. Things go from bad to worse when he finds a corpse in one of his rooms which sets off a big mystery. If he accepts his offer, DOH will play a part-time worker in the DVD Bang.

The film will mark the big-budget debut of filmmaker LEE Yong-seung, whose first film 10 Minutes was a big festival hit after its bow in the New Currents section of the Busan International Film Festival in 2013, where it earned several prizes. It went on to win the Cyclo d’Or from the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema.

After the release of the road trip comedy DETOUR this August, SHIN signed on to the JUNG Byung-gil thriller Villainess, which began filming earlier this month. Following roles in Cart (2014) and UNFORGETTABLE, DOH will next be seen in the drama Brother and is currently shooting the big-budget fantasy With God for director KIM Yong-hwa.
