The Warsaw Korean Film Festival 2015 Began on November 30th

Seven Latest Korean Films Introduced

Warsaw, the capital of Poland, is featuring Korean films. Korean Film Council (KOFIC) is holding The Warsaw Korean Film Festival 2015 from November 30th to December 4th. Seven local films from blockbusters like Snowpiercer (2013) and Ode to My Father (2014) to indies like End of Winter (2014) and A Midsummer's Fantasia (2015) are screening.

JK YOUN’s Ode to My Father is about a man who lives through the waves of the times from the Korean War to now. The film drew 14 million audiences and takes second place at the all-time domestic box office. BONG Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer starring top Hollywood stars including Tilda Swinton and Chris Evans, became a hot topic again after being developed for US TV series.

LEE Jong-hun’s Cat Funeral (2015) is a romance movie about broken lovers who meet once more because their cat died. End of Winter depicts a family members who were at odds but soon understand each other when they have to stay in the same place for a long time due to the snowstorm. Moreover, HONG Sang-soo opens scattered letters in his Hill of Freedom (2014). Also, visitors are able to watch Revivre (2015), IM Kwon-taek’s 102nd movie and A Midsummer's Fantasia, the Korea-Japan co-production which were good at the diversity box office.

End of Winter director KIM Dae-hwan, Cat Funeral director LEE Jong-hun and A Midsummer's Fantasia actress KIM Sae-byuk is going to visit Warsaw to cheer up local movies which are screening in the foreign land. They will attend GVs after featuring. At ‘The Korean-Polish Rookie’s Meeting’, attendees are discussing both countries’ film industry.

Meanwhile, the film fest is organizing the exhibition to understand and enjoy the movies before its opening. Seven films’ posters, still pictures, images of interviews, highlights of the movies and music videos with OST are displaying until the closing day.
