The Roundup, the sequel to THE OUTLAWS, which showed off its amazing box office performance in 2017, has returned in five years. In the sequel, Ma Seokdo (Don Lee), the detective with the Herculean power, is eradicating brutal crimes committed abroad beyond Korea, widening the stage of the movie. The homicide detective team at Geumcheon Police Station has returned with a new villain in the sequel. The Roundup heralds the emergence of a new 'detective series' in the Korean film industry. 

In 2008, four years later of the first episode, Detective Ma Seokdo leaves for Vietnam with Captain Jeon Ilman (Choi Gwihwa) to bring back the criminals to Korea who surrendered abroad. Arriving in Vietnam, the two detectives find out the existence of Kang Haesang (Son Sukku), a villain who only picks up and kills Koreans there, and track him down. However, it is not easy for the detectives to track him down in Vietnam, where they don’t have the authority to investigate. In the meantime, Kang Haesang infiltrates Korea and commits new crimes. Ma Seokdo, who returns to Korea chasing Kang Haesang, and the homicide detective team at Geumcheon Police Station should stop the villain’s brutal crimes. 

The Roundup guarantees both spectacular actions and battles of wits through the confrontation between Ma Seokdo, a monstrous detective, and Kang Haesang, a more brutal ‘new villain.’ The world view of the story from the previous episode, the return of Detective Ma Seokdo, and the combination of a new villain are also successful. Don Lee, the producer and lead actor of the series, introduced that ‘8 episodes are planned’ at least. We can expect the series to be developed into a very smart K-Action franchise movie, centering on the irreplaceable character, ‘Detective Ma Seokdo.’ The Roundup will be released in 132 countries around the world thanks to the box office success of the previous episode and the star power of Don Lee, a Marvel Hero.
