Miss Granny (2014) and I Can Speak (2017) star NA Moon-hee is back in theaters with an appealing family comedy. Oh! My Gran mixes crime, comedy and human-interest elements, namely living with Alzheimer’s, which was also a theme in her last big screen outing, last year’s A Little Princess.

Moon-hee (NA Moon-hee) thinks she is ‘Secret Joujo’, a princess in an animated TV show, but in reality she is a grandmother suffering from Alzheimer’s disease who is cared for by her son Du-won (LEE Hee-jun) and her grand-daughter Bo-mi. While out for a walk with Bo-mi one night, she gets into a hit-and-run altercation. Moon-hee is the only witness to the crime, but her testimony proves to be nonsense. Bo-mi remains in a coma and the police are powerless to help, so Du-won takes it on himself to track down the culprit with a few shreds of evidences from the crime scene, but he’ll need to be able to decode his mother’s gibberish to get to the bottom of the crime.

NA Moon-hee is joined by character actor LEE Hee-jun, seen recently in hits such as The Man Standing Next and 1987: When the Day Comes (2017). The film is the fiction directing debut of JUNG Se-kyo, a documentary filmmaker (Roaring Currents: The Road of the Admiral, 2015) and former assistant director (Perfect Game, 2011).
