Synopsis
Though once on the highway to success, well-known TV producer Namsu Na is currently on suspension for the dishonorable charge of spreading misinformation on TV. While he is looking for a chance to make a return, a mysterious notebook is delivered to him. Inside are journal entries full of suffering by a woman named Suah Kang, who was kidnapped and imprisoned inside a psychiatric hospital. While searching for the truth behind this notebook, Namsu learns thatthe only survivor of a fire at this hospital was has the same name, and is currently detained at an institution of forensic psychiatry as a suspect for the murder of her stepfather, Byeongju Kang.

Showing signs of instability due to what she endured at the psychiatric hospital, Suah denies her murder charge as well as the existence of her stepfather. Through interviews with her, Namsu hears about her boyfriend Woojin and her caretaker at the hospital, Dongsik. Woojin tried to find Suah, but failed because the greedy head of the hospital and Byeongju Kang, who abused his position in power as Chief of Police, worked together to sabotage Woojin’s efforts. Eventually,Woojinis able to reach the hospital thanks to assistance from Dongsik, who has become disillusioned after witnessing an illegal organ sale at the hospital, and attempts to rescue Suah. However, Woojin loses his life in the fire and Suah loses her memory due to shock after the incident.

Nevertheless, Namsucruelly interrogates Suah for material so that he can make his return to TV. Suah has a breakdown, and confesses that Byeongju was a beast-like, violent man who abused her, and that he was already dead when she went to his house. Through reading the autopsy reports on Byeongju Kang’s death, Namsu finds evidence that suggests he committed suicide. Thanks to the program which reveals the dark side of Chief of Police Byeonju Kang and re-illuminates Suah as a victim of domestic violence, Namsu is able to make a glamorous return to television as the main producer of a current events program. When Namsu goes to meet Suah, who has been released from her murder charges for lack of evidence, she seems like a different person. Instead of a thank you, she hands him a notebook, and from reading it Namsu realizes that all of this was Suah’sperfect plan for escape.
